Creating and editing dispositions

How to create your own dispositions, use AI-suggested indicators, and edit existing ones.

School-created dispositions live in the My School tab of the Middah Library. You can create as many as you'd like year-round — which ones are active is decided at Year Rollover.

Creating a disposition

Click + Create a new disposition and fill in the form:

  • Name (required) — the English name of the strength
  • Hebrew name (optional) — shown alongside the English name throughout the app
  • Family (optional) — Heart, Mind, or Will. You can leave this blank if you're not sure.
  • Definition (optional) — a short description of what this strength looks like in practice
  • Observable indicators (required) — at least one specific behavior teachers can look for. Add as many as make sense.

Getting help with indicators

Click ✦ Suggest next to the indicators field. The app will propose six observable indicators based on your disposition's name, family, and description. Check off the ones that fit and they'll be added to your list. You can edit them, remove them, or add your own alongside them.

Editing a disposition

Click Edit on any card in the My School tab. What you can change depends on the disposition's status:

  • Not in use, not published — you can edit everything: name, Hebrew name, family, definition, and indicators.
  • In use this year — the disposition is active in your current framework, so the name and core fields are locked. You can still add or remove indicators.
  • Published to the community — the disposition is locked. If you need to change something, contact support.

A disposition is "in use" once it's been activated at Year Rollover. The In use badge on the card shows you when this applies.
