Understanding the Middah Map
How to read the radar chart showing a student's character strengths across the nine dispositions.
The Middah Map is a radar chart that gives you and your student a visual picture of their character strengths.
Each spoke on the chart represents one of the nine core dispositions, grouped by bucket:
- Heart (red): relational and emotional strengths
- Mind (blue): intellectual and reflective strengths
- Will (yellow): intentional and action-oriented strengths
The further out a spoke extends, the more observations have been logged for that strength.
How to read it:
- A balanced chart means a student shows up across many areas.
- A chart that's strong in one direction reflects a student with a clear, dominant strength.
- Spokes with little or no fill are areas where that strength hasn't been observed yet.
The chart is a mirror of what you and others have noticed and written down.
