Reading the dashboard

How to read the overview dashboard metrics including coverage, teacher pulse, and momentum.

The Overview dashboard gives you a real-time picture of how observation logging is going across your school. All numbers can be filtered by semester using the selector at the top.

The four summary tiles:

  • Students with entries — how many active students have at least one observation logged, out of your total student count
  • Active teachers — how many teachers have logged at least one observation in the selected period
  • Total observations — the total number of observations logged across all character strengths
  • Coverage — the percentage of students who have at least one observation

Teacher pulse:

This panel breaks down teacher activity for the current week:

  • Submitted this week — teachers who logged at least one observation in the last 7 days
  • Quiet for 7+ days — teachers who have submitted before but haven't logged anything recently
  • Haven't submitted yet — teachers who have never logged an observation

Observation distribution:

A bar showing how evenly observations are spread across students:

  • Well-observed — students with 3 or more observations
  • Emerging — students with 1–2 observations
  • Unseen — students with no observations logged yet

Momentum chart:

A week-by-week bar chart showing how many observations were logged each week over the past two months. Useful for spotting when engagement picks up or drops off.
